One of the premier statewide organizations for executive leadership development in the United States, Leadership Maryland’s Executive Program focuses on senior/executive-level leaders with extensive professional backgrounds who have made significant contributions to their organizations, industries, and/or communities.
Each year, 52 accomplished and diverse leaders from around the state are selected by a group of their peers to participate in a stimulating and thought-provoking eight-month educational program. The program is intense; the results are rich and rewarding. Class members converge monthly, April through November, in five different regions of the state for a series of two-day sessions. During each session, class members experience interactive tours of meaningful places that help define the region they’re in including major employers, significant historical and cultural sites, tourism attractions, economic development or neighborhood revitalization projects, and more. Interspersed with these tours are discussions by leading experts addressing pressing issues in the state including environmental issues, inequity, healthcare, housing, education, workforce and economic development, agriculture, public safety and corrections, infrastructure, transportation, and multi-culturalism and diversity. At its core, Leadership Maryland’s Executive Program is about the importance of leadership, differing opinions and perspectives, and relationships. Who should apply: Ideal applicants for Leadership Maryland’s Executive Program will have a desire to learn more about Maryland’s most critical issues and a personal commitment to be a force for positive change in their organizations, communities, and state. The chosen class will reflect a cross-section of the state by including diversity of geographic location, profession, ethnicity, age, and gender. |
