Our members enjoy personal access to nearly 900 movers and shakers in Maryland politics, education, business, health care, non-profits, and small businesses.
No other membership includes the diverse, statewide leaders of Maryland.
LMD members have a wealth of expertise and experience right at their fingertips. When a member calls another for help or guidance, time is put aside to talk, offer advice, open doors, extend your network, collaborate on projects and business, make introductions. Every day, one member is reaching out to another or collaborating on a project or goal.
Member Events
We maintain a reciprocal agreement with each of the 12 local leadership programs so that our members may attend their events and their members are invited to attend our events. It's a win-win situation for everyone.
Annual member events include the Federal Reserve Update on the Economy, A Day in Annapolis: The Dynamics of Leadership, and so many more. There are also regional events scheduled throughout the state and class reunions happening. If our regions plan an event that includes an educational subsidy, LMD provides a funding subsidy to help.
Annual Yearbook/Directory
The Annual Yearbook and Directory is provided to our members and advertisers only. Its contents include the LMD Board of Directors, LMD Staff, the current Graduate Class Profiles and photos, our Legacy Fund donors, Highlights of the sessions, and a Members Directory indexed by both last name and class year, which includes contact information for all. There is also a member index by business location.
Social Media
Facebook – Members and guests are invited to “Like Us” on our Facebook page to share information and keep up to date on events and news.
Linked-In - Our Linked In page network is reserved for our members only. To help our members keep in touch with their classmates, we've also added subgroups for each class year.
Member-Only Access to Website
Our members can do everything they need right here on our website. They can update their contact information, and pay invoices, register for events, and browse job openings and classifieds.
Enews - Quarterly
The quarterly newsletter, eNews, reports on our events, member awards, job changes, and appointments and other news. We encourage our members to submit articles and photos about fellow LMD members and themselves.
The Gazette of Politics and Business
Members receive a free subscription to the Friday Gazette. Once a month, an article is published about Leadership Maryland and its members, featuring interviews with those members and their photographs.

Melissa Leighton - Director of Administration – our “go-to” manager of your contact information, member login for the website, financial matters, the application process, the Legacy Fund, Session materials, and the Yearbook/Directory.
Ellen Clarke - Director of Membership Services - Coordinates events, member services, social media, marketing and publications and manages website. She brings 25+ years in association management and event planning experience to LMD.
